Before I started to attend OSU in the fall, I had two jobs throughout my senior year. I was swinging from the trees with monkeys and taming wild cats. Thats right I worked at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanicale Garden. No, I wasn't swinging from trees with monkeys neither was I taming lions and tigers. However, I did work in the gift shop, but some days while I was working I can here lions and tigers roaring and hear monkeys causing a scene. Working at the zoo was a great job, with okay people and great long hours so I liked it alot. Also the management was pretty laidback, I remember somedays when I was working I would read a book and text all at the same time. Also other perks is that we would always get free food, including ice cream, cupcakes, and soft pretzels. I'm not familiar with the Columbus Zoo but at the Cincinnati Zoo, peacocks roam the park freely. However, one particular scorching, hot summer day, one of the peacocks made its way into one of the monkey areas and unfortunately got its head ripped off. YES! I'm not lying, imagine the kids who were at the scene when this happened they were probably traumatized, I mean I definitely would be. Also the Cincinnati Zoo was open during parts of the winter months and every year they put on the Festival of Lights. Working during these months is crazy and hectic and honestly I rather not. However, in the end its always enjoyable.
This spring i can't wait to go to the Columbus Zoo, for I heard its a pretty nice zoo.
And so it is.
That would be the scariest thing in the world to see the peacocks head get ripped off! Working at the zoo seemed like it was kind off cool though.
