Blog 40: Timely Argument

The argument in my Commonplace paper, is very timely. The argument being about celebrity images I feel is very timely, for the fact there are so many celebrities that people look up to. This has been going on for awhile now, so I feel as though it is a trending topic that will continue. However, especially today society is very intrigued by celebrities and their life styles. I believe that celebrities and the media industry has caught on to this, and that is reason why so many celebrities have reality shows. In these reality shows, its either about their addictions, family, or career. For example, you have Celebrity Rehab, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and Basketball Wives. People will always continue to push to see, how much think they know about a celebrity's life. Most people always want to be like the people we love and admire. But are these people who we think they are? Are they different when a camera or a microphone isn't present? For Example, Lady Gaga is world phenomenon, majority of us love her music, outrageous style, and everything that she is liberating towards. However, Lady Gaga's real name is Sara; but in a recent interview with Fuse, she claimed that even her mom calls here Gaga, and actually when she was growing up she went by Gaga. Here we see how her public persona and private persona was brought together. We see how comfortable she is with herself and how she grasp all of who she is. So I feel this argument is timely and will continue to be.
And so it is.
