Blog 70: Letter

Dear English 110 students,
As you have realized English 110 is a required course for almost all freshman. For those of you who hate English, know, that this course isn't that bad at all and its not like every other English class you have taken. Each English 110 course has a specific theme. Therefore, my theme was televised science fiction. I never thought that I would have an Enlish class structured around the genre of science fiction. I never was a fan of science fiction, and I still am not a fan. However, through this course I can appreciate it for what its worth. There are numerous suggestions I think you should know in order to succeed in English 110. 1.) NEVER, NEVER, NEVER procrastinate. No matter what type of assignment it is, whether its big or small start on it prior to its due date. 2.) Go to the Writing Center. The Writing Center is located in Mendenhall 475, its a great resource for any writing assignment you might have. 3.) Become friends with people in your class, so that if you do unfortunately miss class you both have a way to contact each other. 4.) Most importantly go to class. I feel if you follow all of these suggestions you will do well in the course. So good luck!
Sincerely,
English 110 Veteran
