Blog 65: Time period

There are so many various time periods that I would have liked to be born in. The eighties era and the civil rights era both stick out in my mind. Both of these time periods have something spectacular to offer. The eighties has all the retro, cool clothes and pop music, while the the civil rights era has so many influential people who contributed to our society. However, if I had to choose I would probably choose the civil rights era. I would have been able to meet and know Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Malcom X and numerous other prominent people. I think seeing these people change laws and people's minds would have probably made me more appreciative and humble. Being there to actually experience the effects of segregation and the open discrimination wo have been breath taking. I mean we read about this all the time but to actually be there and possibly have a personal story relating would be epic. However, I feel that part of me would probably be bitter. In the sense that something so ridiculous took place and I was there. Living during this time probably would have made me realize that I'm lucky.
And so it is.
