I really liked this episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It showed how its hard sometimes to be comfortable in your own skin and understand that everyone is not going to accept you for who you are; and you have to learn to accept that. Honestly, through out the episode I felt sorry for Buffy because I felt that she was struggling with trying to readjust to her old lifestyle and be apart of the gang again. I also feel that Buffy was going through internal conflict as well, whether or not her friends were still her friends, do they look at her differently, and do her mom still love her as before; I feel like these were questions that filled Buffy's mind constantly.
Another aspect of the episode is that you can't live up to other people's expectations and be what other people want you to be, you always have to be true to yourself. The power of friendship was also apparent as well too. True friends will always be there for you even when the going gets tough, this was showed through Willow and Xander when they were exclaiming to Buffy that her leaving affected everyone not just her. I also feel that Willow and Xander never really wanted to accept the fact that Buffy might be gone forever and never return and I think that is why they all began to go out and slay vampires, in way they were keeping Buffy alive through their actions.
Finally, I feel that the zombies reminded me a lot of Zombieland; I feel that it was showing that you are who you are and you can't exscape that.
And so it is.
I agree. If you don't believe in yourself, you cannot expect anyone else to believe in you.
